Dr. Samsul Alam is the Director of Guwahati Diabetes Research Centre. Dr. Alam achieved his MBBS degree from Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati in 1990 and got his accreditation in 1993 from National Medical College, Calcutta, West Bengal. He is a pioneer in the study and treatment of Diabetology and Endocrinology. He acquired Post Doctorate Training in Diabetology and Endocrinology from AIIMS, New Delhi, FAIMS, PDED (USA) , Advance Post Doctorate Training in Diabetology & Endocrinology from San Francisco, USA fellowship and scholar from Harvard University , Boston, USA, Opinion Leader Certificate from USA Govt 2010, Diploma in Sexology, USA, Advance course in Thyroid Disorder Management from Indian Thyroid disorder Management from Indian Thyroid Society,2011. He established Guwahati Diabetes Research Centre in1994 at Guwahati and he has treated more than One Lac patients and more than 98% of his patients are not only satisfied with his progressive treatment but also overwhelmed that their sugar levels are always under control. More than 85% of his patients are without any diabetic related complications. Besides Diabetes and Endocrinology, he treats all kinds of metabolic problems – Uric Acid, PCOS, Obesity, Bone and Mineral Disorder, Hormonal Disorder, Growth Hormone. Free treatment and medicines are provided for BPL Patients. Early detection and treatment of Diabetes patients are done regularly at GDRC.
